As a lifelong enthusiast of Mexican food, I often find myself craving authentic, reasonably priced options, which can be surprisingly hard to come by on the Las Vegas Strip. That’s where La Comida shines as a true beacon in Fremont East. This vibrant, authentic Mexican spot consistently delivers some of the best darn tacos and margaritas I’ve ever tasted. The carnitas tacos, in particular, are so succulent and flavorful that just thinking about them makes my mouth water. And when it comes to drinks, their sweet and tart tamarind margarita instantly transports me back to sunny Mexico. I wholeheartedly recommend heading to La Comida for dinner, or even better, during their lively happy hour for fantastic deals. If you happened to party a little too hard the night before – which, let’s be honest, is part of the Vegas experience! – their brunch menu offers the perfect delicious remedy to kickstart your day.

For a slice of Americana with a side of deliciousness, look no further than Evel Pie. This is, without exaggeration, one of the coolest things I’ve ever stumbled upon in Las Vegas. Yes, I’m emphasizing that for a reason! The Container Park is precisely what its name suggests: an innovative, open-air shopping and entertainment complex literally constructed from repurposed shipping containers. It’s a microcosm of creativity, housing a diverse collection of local restaurants, unique boutique shops, and a killer whiskey bar (Oak & Ivy, as mentioned above). But it’s not just for adults; there’s also an incredible playground made out of recycled materials that honestly makes me wish I could join in on the fun myself. It’s incredibly inspiring to see how these industrial containers have been transformed into a bustling, eco-conscious community space. As you wander through, past families and children enjoying the vibrant atmosphere, you can’t help but feel like you’ve discovered a secret, thriving area of Las Vegas. While the mega-resorts of the Strip are known for their high stakes and extravagant entertainment, Fremont Street offers a delightful journey back in time to the roots of Las Vegas gambling.
